The Crew Arrives
The first Skylab crew, commanded by Apollo 12 veteran Pete Conrad, launched on May 25, 1973. Conrad and fellow crew members Paul Weitz and Joe Kerwin repaired station, which had been damaged during its launch. NASA photo.
A New View
The first Skylab crew (the mission is generally referred to as Skylab 2, in deference to the launch of the station itself, which is designated Skylab 1) completed many of their planned scientific experiments despite losing time initially to repair the damaged lab. NASA photo.
